Celebrity Cruises cuts back on Europe for 2015
Celebrity Cruises will send just five ships to Europe in 2015, one less than this year.
The 11-ship line on Friday announced that the Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Reflection will sail in the Mediterranean for the summer of 2015 while the Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Eclipse will be based in northern Europe.
Missing from Europe will be the Celebrity Infinity, which this year is sailing out of Harwich, England. In 2015, it'll instead spend the summer in Alaska.
In all, the five vessels heading to Europe in 2015 will visit 94 destinations in 28 countries, Celebrity says. Among itineraries on the schedule:
-- Celebrity Constellation will operate seven-night Greek Isles and Turkey sailings out of Venice that feature calls in Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kusadasi, Turkey; Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu and Katakolon, Greece. The ship also will sail 12- to 14-night Black Sea sailings and one-time, 14-night voyage out of Venice during the city's Redentore Festival.

-- Celebrity Silhouette will sail 12-night Scandinavia and Russia voyages out of Amsterdam that include overnight stays in Copenhagen, Denmark; St. Petersburg, Russia; and Stockholm, Sweden. The ship also will sail to the British Isles from Amsterdam.
-- Celebrity Equinox will offer an array of seven-night Mediterranean sailings that can be combined into a destination-intense Mediterranean Grand Tour vacation experience of up to 28 nights. The vessel will operate from Athens as a new port in 2015, plus Barcelona, Istanbul and Rome.
-- Celebrity Eclipse will offer 11- to 14-night sailings from Southampton, England to the Canary Islands as well as 13- to 15-night trips from Southampton to northern European ports. The northern Europe itineraries will include stops in Copenhagen; Stockholm; Tallinn, Estonia; Klaipeda, Lithuania; Gdansk (Gdynia), Poland; St. Petersburg; and Warnemunde, Germany (for Berlin).
-- Celebrity Reflection will operate a series of 10- and 11-night Mediterranean sailings from Rome to the Greek Isles and Turkey. The 11-night itinerary features an overnight stay in Istanbul.
The voyages open to the general public for bookings on Tuesday. Customers who book a sailing of four nights or longer by April 30 can receive up to $400 in on-board credits.
