Barbra Streisand to launch 9-city summer concert tour

Legendary US singer Barbra Streisand performs 18 June 2007 as she opens her first continental European tour in Zurich.

The tour will start on Aug 2 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and continue through Aug 23, at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Known for her enormous voice, but also for her long stretches away from the concert performance (27 years, to be exact - stage fright, anyone?), Babs' tour announcement is sure to ignite a profound stir among fans.

Every ticket purchased online includes a CD of Streisand's third Broadway album, which will be released later this year. Streisand's manager said Monday the entertainer will appear at arenas across the country, including a one-night stop in Boston and two nights in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The new album ties back to both her "Partners" duets album of 2014 and her two previous collections of Broadway show tunes. Collaborators have yet to be announced, although Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley revealed she recorded with Streisand in March.

Barbra also announced a nine-date tour commencing this August, including dates in Los Angeles, Toronto, and her hometown of Brooklyn.

Streisand's last tour in 2012, BACK TO BROOKLYN, highlighted an emotional return to performing in concert in her home borough for the first time since she was in grade school.

Tickets for the TD Garden show go on sale Wednesday, May 25 via Ticketmaster.
