Sukarma on Europe tour

May 31, 2016- Popular Nepali folk-classical group Sukarma is currently touring the Italian city of Sarzana as part of a month-long musical journey that is being organised in various cities in Italy and Switzerland.  

This year, the musical entourage of Sukarma comprises of  Dr Dhrubesh Chandra Regmi on sitar and Umesh Pandit on flute. The duo will be joined by Avirodh Sharma, a prominent tabla player from West Indies who has been running a music school named East Indian Music Academy in New York, USA. Sharma had visited Nepal a number of times and has collaborated with Sukarma previously as well.

"We have been taking part in musical festivals in Europe for the last decade," Dr Dhrubesh Chandra Regmi said , "And this year we have been invited to the prestigeous festival in Piazza city of Italy where over 300 noted musicians from across the globe are asssembling for performance."  The group, upon their return to Nepal, will also take part in various fundraising concerts for orphanages and reconstruction of  quake-hit houses here.
