Fat Freddy's Drop announces summer tour dates

This is what your summer is going to sound like, as Fat Freddy's Drop announce a summer tour.

Fat Freddy's Drop are making major ripples overseas, but aren't forgetting their New Zealand fans.

The Wellington band has announced it will bring it's signature live sound back to New Zealand this summer, headlining shows in both Auckland and Queenstown.

The rolling natural amphitheatre of Villa Maria Winery will set the scene for Fat Freddy's Drop's Auckland gig on January 14, 2017.

In Queenstown, nestled between the foot of the Remarkables and the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the John Davies Oval will host the band on February 5, Waitangi weekend.

International touring has dominated the Fat Freddy's schedule as of late, having toured their latest studio album Bays across New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the UK, which included a sold-out gig at the 5000 capacity O2 Academy Brixton.

Wellington's Fat Freddy's Drop bring their live show to Queenstown and Auckland this Summer.

They will embark on a second European tour this year headlining major summer shows across the continent in August, before making their Hong Kong debut in November.

Presale tickets to their New Zealand summer shows go on sale for 24-hours from midday, July 20, with general sales commencing July 25.
