IBT reports that tickets for Metallica's upcoming European tour have been sold out in minutes, only to resurface on reselling sites at significantly higher prices, going as high as $2,500.

According to the source, this caused an expected outrage among fans.

The report reads: "Clearly in high demand, tickets were already gone within 10 minutes and soon began appearing on the secondary marketplace like Viagogo and Get Me In, a company owned by Ticketmaster.

"Tickets for Metallica's show at London's O2 Arena on 22 October have almost gone but a small batch are currently still available for around £200 ($249) with the original prices at £50-£85 ($60-$105). Some hopeful ticket-buyers on social media complained that tickets for other shows were priced for as much as £2,000 ($2,500)."

James Hetfield recently said he's not happy about the whole ticket situation, telling CTV:

"It's hard to believe something more can't be done. There's legal scalping out there too, which is frustrating - your Stubhubs and what not. All the sudden, 'Hey, wow, we just sold 10,000 tickets. Where did they go? To one place?... Interesting...'

"We're aware of it and doing what we can. At the end of the day the fan gets screwed and we get screwed. That shouldn't happen."

The frontman added: "That's their karma. There's always going to be someone who has an agenda, they're going to scoop up as many as they can. You can't stop that. I would just say fans beware. Be smart about it."
